The project brought the album’s cinematic world to life through an original comic book and a custom Game Boy Color video game. The universe expanded into a fully playable 8-bit world with custom environments and character animations. It merged music, gaming, and visual storytelling into a collectible that felt both nostalgic and contemporary, rooted in early 2000s pop culture and comic book aesthetics. Found in 9 out of 10 U.S. households, Walmart’s flagship private brand spans nearly 10,000 food and consumables products across shelf and digital. As part of the JKR design team, I worked on the brand’s refresh, helping create a packaging system that could stretch across categories without losing clarity, recognition, or ease of use. My role focused on developing the system, applying it across categories, and building guidelines for rollout. The work centered on creating a clearer, more ownable visual language, with stronger brand presence, more intuitive hierarchy, and flexible rules that could scale across thousands of SKUs while still feeling simple, familiar, and unmistakably Great Value. The goal was to transform Onn into a brand customers could trust, not just for price but for clarity, confidence, and smart design. Together with the Walmart team, we built a modern identity and packaging system that is cohesive across thousands of SKUs, easy to shop, and flexible across dozens of categories.
